2012 :: Year in Review {Part I of IV}

2012 was such a magnanimous year that we weren't even able to complete our year in review at the end of the year. It was such a huge year that we'll have to present this in a four part series! We are still on a high from all of the wonderful people we served in 2012 and we can only imagine what lies in store for us in this brand new year. With that being said, here is our "wonder"ful year in review for 2012! January Our year started off with a bang because we helped to plan and execute our Pastor's 20th Pastoral Anniversary Celebration. This month long celebration was full of design, print, time and energy. We had a blast at every event and the service we rendered was more than worth it.

We also started our wedding season off in January with a wonderful bride who infused her African ancestry with a modern American flare into her wedding day.

February The celebration for our Pastor continued and wedding season bloomed fully. We had save the dates growing out of our ears and were gearing up for our wedding wonderland that would span from March to October.

The "tie the knot" design from 2011 still reigned supreme in 2012!

We also had the distinct pleasure of helping to plan the wedding of a family member and Lisa collaborated with two Atlanta planners, Brian Green and Michelle Gainey, and hosted a workshop for wedding planners. Lisa provided the marketing and branding expertise for the event. ImageImageImage

We ended the month on a high with a client who we've serve in the corporate arena for years. It was a lovely wedding at the perfect location!

March We had a fabulous wedding that showcased the color scheme of purple and black fabulously.

We also enjoyed providing the stationery for a bride whose colors were black, ivory, and blush. It was the perfect color scheme to usher winter out of the door and welcome in Spring!

Stay tuned next week for the adventures of the second quarter in 2012. Happy Friday!

Collaborate, Design, Inspire then Educate

"Having a great idea and not selling it well is like sitting on a pig and hoping for a ham sandwich!" Very well said Sam Harrison. This weekend, the Atlanta Wedding Creative is hosting our first education event, A Planners Workshop. This is not your regular sitting in the room sipping water listening to people talk type of workshop. Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events and Brian Green of F&G Weddings have spent quality time putting together an intensive itinerary filled with interactive sessions including some of Atlanta's top Wedding Industry Professionals. I am most excited about the tablescape photo shoot each attendee gets to do with amazing photographers Janet Howard of Janet Howard Studio and Jeremy Harwell of Harwell Photography. What a fabulous start or enhancement to one's portfolio! Speaking of tablescapes, check out this behind the scenes video by Inije Photo from AWC's first photo shoot with Ross Oscar Knight. AWC Planners Workshop Speaker Spotlight: Michelle Gainey {Lemiga Events}

Tom Peters of Fast Company said, "A brand is a promise of the value received." Michelle Gainey, Lead Designer of Lemiga Events, has built her brand believing that statement. I had the privilege of meeting Michelle just before she opened StudioWed and remember thinking, this young lady is really going to change the Atlanta wedding industry. Michelle has successfully built her own brand and had a hand in taking the StudioWed brand to another level. For those of you unfamiliar with StudioWed, it is an exclusive collection of Atlanta's wedding vendors representing the finest wedding professionals that service the Atlanta area. This is a hip and revolutionary concept in local and destination weddings in Atlanta: a stylish and sophisticated planning studio where the area's best vendors come to you. Meet with a photographer over coffee in the morning and enjoy a glass of wine as you chat with a florist in the afternoon. Best of all, there's no cost to you to use StudioWed's services, so you can feel free to spend an entire day -- or as many as you need -- planning your big day. Michelle has built a great balance between the two businesses and an awesome staff to help her maintain them. As Lead Designer and Planner of Lemiga Events, Michelle is a girly girl. She loves shoes, dresses, makeup and everything about being a woman! Michelle loves a challenge. She's always looking to do things differently than how they’ve always been done. Lemiga Events is a premier event design boutique specializing in stylish and glamorous affairs for a discerning clientele. They are passionate about creating unique and exceptional moments that will be remembered for a lifetime. Their love for design and intricate details is what defines our signature event style. Enchanting venues, sumptuous fabrics, stunning florals and captivating stationery are some of the elements that make our events spectacular. I love working with Michelle. She is the epitome of a wedding planner. Her glamorous style and attention to detail ensures that each and every client feels appreciated, her service is valued, and the wedding is amazing! What I love most is that Michelle, like me, is a mom! She is married and has two adorable daughters. I know that she is setting an example of how to be successful in every aspect of life. Kudos Mrs. Gainey!

Michelle has a passion for educating and inspiring fellow associates in the wedding and event industry. You can hear her share her knowledge in an intimate setting and speak with her personally at the Atlanta Planner's Workshop at StudioWed happening February 18-19, 2012. Marvelous Mayhem!

This May, we are excited to feature five lovely couples who have allowed us to fulfill their papered dreams. We hope each of these couples' designs may inspire you just as they have inspired us.
Amy Rancier and Greg Goodrich
Amy and Greg were  joined in Holy Matrimony last weekend and we know that their wedding was as fabulous as they are. The Ritz-Carlton was glowing with purple and platinum and their love surely added just the right amount of sparkle. Their wedding monogram is modern, simple, and elegant. It showcases that while Amy and Greg are individuals, together they are stronger and much more prominent. Amy's stationery included a 5x5 pocketfold for their wedding invitation and their wedding day stationery included a slender and sleek program design. We were blessed to share in this papered journey with Amy and Greg and it is our prayer that their marriage is forever blessed with love, joy, and peace.
Congratulations Amy and Greg!
We look forward to sharing photos of their beautiful stationery soon.

StudioWed wins Best Gallery at Bridal Extravaganza Atlanta!

We are overwhelmed with excitement and humbled by the honor to share with you that we recently were awarded "Best Gallery" Award at the Bridal Extravangza of Atlanta. Our tablescape theme was inspired by the recent box office movie hit, "Black Swan" and our design team really raised the bar in the Atlanta wedding and event design industry. We had the privilege of working with Michelle Gainey of Lemiga Events, Danny Wilson of The Savage Garden, Tamara Gollob of I Do Linens and Sharon Alexander of Sweet Sensations. The red, black and white decor was creatively enhanced by each vendor with their own special touch.

We also participated in the "Love" themed tablescape that was inspired by a vision Toni McDaniel of Floral Couture Atlanta brought to us. Lemiga Events, I Do Linens and Sweet Sensations and I came together to design this lovely pink and purple modern, chic eventscape. This year bold, brazen color pallets are back so this was the perfect display for 2011 brides.

Kudos StudioWed Atlanta for another job well done!

A F&G Wedding

Not often do you come across a client who you do not service, but they leave a lasting impression. I'm sure I haven't ever blogged about anyone. I guess there is a first time for everything. I met Dornechia and Kenny through, Brian Green of F&G Weddings. We initially met for a stationery consultation; however, we did not provide stationery for their wedding. Dornechia and Kenny were an adorable couple. Love was so in the air during our meeting. We've kept up with them through their planning process knowing they booked one of our favorite photographers, Shawna Herring, of Shawna Herring Photography. Well, I just wanted to share this beautiful slideshow she put together for them. Enjoy!

WUW Atlanta Launches Moulin Rouge Style!

Wish Upon a Wedding is the world’s first nonprofit wish granting organization providing weddings and vow renewals for couples facing terminal illness and serious life-altering circumstances regardless of sexual orientation.  Our organization offers couples a chance to enjoy a very special day, without any thoughts of existing health or other serious issues, while surrounded by their closest family and friends. By celebrating the courage & spirit of these couples, we help create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come. It is our hope that others facing similar situations will find hope, strength, and the promise of eternal love.

The Atlanta Chapter, led by Brian Green of F&G Weddings, celebrated their launch party Moulin Rouge style at one of Atlanta's newest hot spots, The Mansion Elan. If you missed it, you missed a great party. There was great entertainment provided by an aerialist from Entanglement Circus Troop and a fabulous S'mores Bar by Peachy Treat Candy Buffet Bar.

Many thanks to all of our great sponsors. We certainly look forward to some great Atlanta weddings produced by all of the top vendors in the wedding industry. If you're interested in becoming a wish granter, visit the Wish Upon A Wedding National website. Bride's Tea ~ The International Bridal Affair

Recently, we participated in the International Bridal Affair upon invitation from Bride's Tea with some of our fellow StudioWed vendors. We had the pleasure of working on an amazing design team including The Wedding Box, The Savage Garden and I Do Linens. We were certainly in awe of the creativity that went from a brainstorming conference call session to life at the show. Here are a few photos from the show provided to us by Eli Silva Photography. Thank you!

Wedding Season 2010...PWI + UGA

We love January because we love booking brides for the new year! We are especially excited about the upcoming nupitals of one of our own, Charnelle! She is the sister of April Davenport. Charnelle and Antonio, her fiance will unite in a beautiful fall ceremony later this year and we have the honor of creating all the wedding stationery for their special day. Char and Tony had their engagement session with our favorite photographer, Julius Grimes of  KreativTouch Photography, and provided us with wonderful pictures to use throughout the wedding planning experience. Since the couple met on the campus of the Univerity of Georgia, the campus provided the perfect backdrop for the shoot. Here are just a few of the many!

Two if by Sea

How we love weddings! In October, we had the privilege of sharing with two of our clients as they tied the knot in Charleston, South Carolina. This historic city was the perfect backdrop for the rich, deep love that Angela and Clyde share. The wedding was held at Mount Zion AME Church and the reception was held at the South Carolina Aquarium. The beauty of the invitations resonated through the design of the programs. For the Corbins, we combined a number of our program styles to create an elegant and stunning piece. The happy couple allowed us 100% free reign on creativity for their wedding stationery. This allowed us to be inspired by their love and devotion for one another and transform it to luxurious wedding stationery! We also created name placards for the candy bar as well as inserts for the CD favors. We extend God's greatest blessings upon Angela and Clyde. The wedding is over, but the marriage is sure to last a lifetime!

Our special thanks to Sky+Carla Photography for the awesome job they did in capturing every moment of this grand occasion!

Persistence Is Key

Papered Wonders, Inc. has been blessed to design a multitude of logos. Sometimes, we present one design concept and the client is hooked; other times, we have to dig deep into our creative crevices to design the perfect logo for our client. Let it not be misunderstood, though; we welcome the challenge. It is our goal to provide every client with their own unique "wonder". If that means extra time is needed or more thought required, we are happy to do so. We want our clients to know that we will use every effort to please them! We are pleased to present one of our most recent logo designs, Simply Stunning Affairs. This logo design took longer to refine and perfect, but the time was worth it when the owner. Cherese A. Michel, said those wonderful three words, "I love it!" So do we.

Here is Cherese's testimonial:

"I just wanted to thank Lisa of Papered Wonders, Inc again for all of her hard work and dedication with producing my company's official logo. Lisa is a VERY dedicated and passionate person and believed from the begining that we would be able to work together to produce what I had envisioned my logo to be. My experience working with Lisa was very pleasant and I plan on working with her further to produce more of my company's branding items. In addition, I will be directing some of my clients her way for their "papered" design needs. Lisa is FULLY endorsed and recommended by Simply Stunning Affairs, LLC. We wish you continued success."

Golden Summers

Well, summer is officially over and it ended with a flourish for PWI! Our last wedding of the season was a beautiful combination of rich gold tones and burnt oranges. We were pleased to provide the programs, menu cards, table numbers, and escort cards as the wedding day stationery. The Lydia program, a popular style, turned out beautifully as gold paper and gold ribbon teamed together to create a perfect complement to the wedding decor. The couple's monogram became the underlying theme that tied all of the wedding pieces together. What a nice way to end the season!

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Joan and Bgenga as they start their lives together!
